They fell in love in Ecuador, met again in Brazil. Dylan moved from Canada to Southern Califonia and married Peruvian-born, NYC-raised Violeta. When Violeta met Dylan, she felt he was a Sage. When Dylan was in Argentina, he told Violeta he was going to see the Iguazu falls at the border of Argentina and Brazil. Violeta told him she’d be there with him in spirit on his shoulder. While at the Iguazu Falls a random tourist pointed to Dylan’s shoulder and said, “es Violeta” – Violeta is purple in Spanish… A purple butterfly had landed on his shoulder and “the Sage & the Butterfly” was born. After years in Southern California, we bought a fifth wheel trailer and after doing some remodeling, we are traveling the Americas with our dogs in our gypsy caravan, indefinitely… Creating, living, exploring, bringing you stories and handcrafted treasures at www.thesageandthebutterfly.com. Vivienne Westwood Gold Label - Autumn/Winter 14/15 - Paris Fashion Week

I was always fascinated by costume archives. Recently I remembered when more than 20 years ago Vivienne and I went to the Victoria and Albert museum to look at a very important collection of folders with photographs of creations of the house of Worth. I love Worth. I went back again and it made an enormous impression on me! This season is a free interpretation of his work. We combined it with influences of the Ashaninka tribe in Peru which we visited in 2013. They are wonderful people who care about the forest which is their home. They are kind and elegant and we are using their adornments. We have added military green in the fight for the environment and Worth's tulle for the morning mist. 'Cool Earth' has a plan to save the 3 great equatorial rainforests by 2020. Good News: they are on track, please continue your support. www.coolearth.org Love Vivienne & Andreas Music written & produced by Dominik Emrich / The Belleville Boy

Yanesha Artisans Sourcing Managed Forest Wood, Yanesha Project, Peruvian Amazon

ORG by vio is working with Yanesha artisans on a joint bio jewelry project with PaTS (Partnerships and Technology for Sustainability) organization and funded by IICA-Finland (Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture). In this video Yanesha artisans go deep into the forest to collect wood from managed forests to make jewelry, and bring out bowls made for PaTS. The artisans also collect branches and unsused wood recycled from the production of bowls and furniture. Using managed forest wood, which has been carefully selected, to create added value products like jewelry, furniture, bowls, among other items, helps generate about $2,000 per tree instead of selling a tree for a mere $100 for its wood alone. This is more beneficial to the artisans and community, as well as helps protect the rainforest from clear-cutting.
